I put together this FAQ from what I am asked the most often to make your life a little easier. However, if there is a question you have that's not listed here, please contact me!
Most clients book in their first or second trimester. Booking early guarantees availability on my calendar. However, if you’re already in your third trimester and just now reading this, please still contact me to inquire about my availability.
Maternity photoshoots are best photographed between 30 – 34 weeks of pregnancy. Usually, within this time you’ll have a gorgeous, defined belly and still be comfortable for posing.
Maternity photo sessions can take place at an outdoor location of your choice around our beautiful low country (travel restrictions may apply) or at my studio. There are plenty of options at local parks or beaches! Visit the maternity portfolio page to see images from some of the locations to determine the best fit for you.
Any outdoor sessions are typically photographed an hour or two before sunset. This is when the sun begins setting low in the sky and the light gets softer and more appealing. It’s also usually not as hot! Scheduling studio maternity sessions are more flexible.
If your session is taking place outdoors, we'll reschedule for another date! I will do my best to find the next available date for both of us. If your maternity session is in the studio, rain will not warrant a reschedule.
Absolutely! Partners and children are welcome. Not only is this a special time in your life, but theirs as well!
The maternity clothes you already have may be perfect if you love them! For something more formal, you are welcome to select a maternity gown from my studio collection. As with all portrait sessions, I recommend selecting wardrobe options that you feel good wearing and like the look of.
Investing in hair and make-up is suggested, but not mandatory. Whether you choose to hire an artist or do it yourself, I ask that hair and make-up be ready and done by the time we start the session. At this time, I do not have preferred hair and make-up artist. Your hands will more than likely be in a lot of the pictures, so please come with manicured nails or natural nails with all polish removed.
Of course not! All maternity photo sessions are customized and tailored to the wants and needs of each client. Some clients prefer fully clothed casual photos. While others prefer more revealing and showing the bare belly.
If you choose to have your bare belly photographed, no need to worry about stretch marks! All images are professionally retouched. Stretch marks, a few skin blemishes, navel ring piercing scar, etc. are all things that can be removed!
First, contact me so we can set a date for your session. Once that has been determined, I will require a signed contract and $100 non-refundable deposit to reserve your session date and rate. The contract will be sent to you via email and can be signed digitally. I will also send you an invoice for the deposit which can be paid with a debit or credit card. The remaining balance of your contract will be due on the day of the session.
